Welcome to the Piedmont Pauper League!

Join us every week for Pauper events and monthly League Tournament. Our goal is to foster an open community of Pauper fans, to learn, test, and compete. The Piedmont Pauper League is dedicated to organizing and encouraging Pauper events in central North Carolina, with a focus on our flagship League in Greensboro.

Our current 2026 League is comprised of six monthly tournaments, from January to June, hosted by Dragon’s Hoard in Greensboro, NC.

The overall winner of the League will receive a ticket and travel stipend to the 4th Common Ground Cup $2k in the Summer of 2026!

How the League Works

Each tournament stage will have an entry fee of $10. Organization and registration is done through Spicerack, and decklists are required.

Stages consist of five swiss rounds, awarding 3 League points for each win, and 1 League point for each draw. While there are six tournament stages, only the best five results will contribute to your total – so if you miss one, you are still in the running!

Example: Jace competes in all six tournaments with results of 5-0, 4-1, 1-4, 2-3, 4-1, 3-2. They end with a total of 54 points, because the 1-4 result is excluded. Meanwhile, Oko competes in only four tournaments, because he was busy making elks, but does well, going 5-0, 5-0, 4-1, 5-0. Oko ends with a total of 57 points.

Proxies are allowed! Please see the rules for more information.

Prizing

All participants at each tournament stage will be given custom promo cards! In order to receive a promo, you must be registered no later than the Wednesday before the tournament at 5 p.m.

Each tournament stage, a portion of entry fees will be held back to cover transaction fees and final league prizing, with the remainder paid out as store credit. Prizing will be paid out to the top third of the field. (e.g. 8 players in attendance = prizing to top 3, 12 players = top 4, 32 players = top 10).
